Main Responsibilities​

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director will supervise and lead the Group’s Finance Department in developing and implementing financial policies, overseeing all financial operations, managing treasury functions, and delivering timely financial reports to achieve the Group’s long-term financial plans and objectives.

Financial Management:

  • Develop, review, and maintain Group’s accounting/financial policies and processes, to ensure consistency and compliance with statutory requirements and Group standard
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop and maintain financial operations workflows
  • Plan, coordinate and manage workplans and projects identified by the Board or Shareholders
  • Responsible for the Group’s risks control with respect to governance, balance sheet, operations and reputation
  • Stay up to date on applicable regulations and policies relating to the ownership/investment structure, financials and tax aspects of the Group
  • Advise/assist in asset allocation, capital deployment and capital structuring to ensure alignment with the Group’s long-term investment objectives
  • Lead in implementing and improving accounting and other financial/BI software systems to streamline operations and improve productivity

Treasury Functions: 

  • Responsible for treasury functions including liquidity, funding, financing, cash flow management, forex management and hedging strategy
  • Develop, review, and maintain processes and workflows for managing cashflows and funds deployment
  • Analyse cashflows and oversee fund flows within the Group
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary approval process
  • Coordinate with other Departments on overall budget execution, review, and control

Accounting Reporting and Auditing:

  • Coordinate with Business Units to develop and maintain management reports
  • Ensure financial and management reports are completed in accordance with respective accounting standards and in a timely manner
  • Review and comment on financial reports
  • Manage auditors and tax agents on statutory filings with government bodies

People Management:

  • Manage the Group’s finance related relationships with external parties including bankers, auditors, tax consultants, etc.
  • Manage and develop the Finance team (general supervision, training and development, appraisal)

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance from a good, recognised university, with CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualifications preferred. CFA/MBA would be advantageous
  • Approximately 12 to 15 years of relevant work experience in family offices or funds/asset management companies, with at least 5 years in a managerial position
  • Well versed in statutory and compliance frameworks in funds/asset management industry. Preference for prior experience that includes exposure to MAS regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws in Singapore and Hong Kong
  • Good analytical skills, project management skills, and proficiency in accounting and financial software systems
  • Good governance and compliance mindset
  • Good business and investment acumen, with awareness of global markets, economy, and geopolitical developments
  • Good adaptability and communication skills to interact effectively with different groups of stakeholders and to work in a dynamic cross-entities/functions environment
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership capabilities
